Audrey Woods
Obituary
WOODS, Audrey May…
Audrey May Woods (85) passed peacefully on May 31st, 2024, surrounded by those who loved her in the home she and her husband, John, raised their children and grandchildren.
Daughter of Harold and Marg Rank, Audrey was raised with values that led her throughout her life. Audrey always gave more then she asked for in return – on her own or with some help from her children by bringing food to those who had none, and offering counsel and advice to those in need of a good listener, and through her work with the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she served for most of her life, to create spaces for those seeking community, and by inviting other like minded people to join her in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support charities whose missions were near and dear to her heart. She never wanted people to go without – she loved people, and they loved her.
Audrey always wanted the best for her family, and she spent her life working to support them. She taught us how to cook, and how to mind our manners. She taught us what to say, and what not to say. She taught us how to be good parents and led by example on how to spoil your grandchildren. And she taught us that to love means to accept people for who they are, no matter where they are.
Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John. She is predeceased by her parents, Harold and Marg Rank, her sons Michael and Llyod, her grandchildren Jason, Tanya, and Wayne, and her brother Bill. She is survived by children Katherine, Sharon (Brad), John (Tasha), and Heather. She also leaves behind her brother, Harold, and her sister, Marg. Referred to as “Gramma” by some, and “Nana” by others, she is survived by grandchildren Jennifer (Pete), Allyson (Greg), Kyle, Kevin, Kristofer, Anthony, Sonya, Brianna, Olivia. She was also blessed to have been a great-grandmother to many and was especially close with Dylan, Ciara, DJ, Nicole, Brooklyn, and Ava. She was also a proud great-great grandmother.
Celebration of Life to take place on June 26, 12:00pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie, 500 First Street, London, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation London & Middlesex, 519-858-2467.
