Jill Majernik
Obituary
MAJERNIK, Jill (nee Peuvergne)
December 20, 1974 – September 26, 2024
It’s Impossible to describe all the ways Jill affected the lives of those around her. Her husband Scott describes her as having a shining light around her. She really did light up a room. She was as beautiful as she was loud, as she was kind, as she was bossy, as she was intelligent and as she was understanding. But her most admirable quality was her ability to make you feel special. She always had a kind word and a smidgen of advice whether you wanted it or not. She made you really think.
She could have excelled in any occupation from physician, to lawyer, to social worker to teacher. But she settled on ultrasound as a second career after first practicing as a registered massage therapist. She touched the lives of thousands of patients by being the best at her job and going above and beyond by always asking hard questions and never taking no for an answer. She had an almost unquenchable thirst for knowledge and researched endlessly for treatments for her cancer. She was a tireless advocate for herself and likely pissed off more than one doctor.
Her tenacity extended into her home life and the best word to describe her as a mother was fierce. She was a never ending champion for her daughters, at school and within the healthcare system. Her love and encouragement for them knew no bounds.
As a wife she was patient and passionate
As a sister she was generous to a fault
As an aunt she was doting and encouraging
As a daughter she was caring and supportive
As a friend she was endlessly kind
She leaves us all heartbroken and selfishly wanting just one more day to hear her signature laugh and see that huge smile and feel her arms around us for one last hug. Left to mourn are her parents Helen Timmerman(née Johnson) and Jean-Michel Peuvergne, step mother Jean Preston and stepfather John Timmerman, her husband Scott, their daughter’s Ava(19) and Jocee(17) and their dog Gamma, her sister Renée and her husband Todd, their children Jack, Tristan and Jillian. Jill will also be sadly missed by her in-laws Ed and Marlene Majernik and her brothers-in-law Christopher, Craig and his wife Erin, their children Emma, Madie and Sophie.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at a later date to be announced. Donations to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides in Jill’s memory would be appreciated: https://www.dogguides.com/donate/online-donations/. Cremation London & Middlesex entrusted with arrangements 519-858-2467. Online condolences shared at www.cremationlondon.com
Just reading the beautifully, and honestly written words in Jill’s honour. She was all that, and more. Jill will be dearly missed. I wish you all, her family and friends, strength at this difficult time.
Jill was such a vibrant and beautiful spirit and her smile and laughter will always be in my heart as one of my first best friends that felt like a sister. I’m so sorry to have to be sending condolences to you all because it’s hard to believe she’s no longer here. Her loving and kind spirit will continue to shine bright in all the lives she touched. I love you Jill and send all your family and friends much love.

Jill was a vibrant and kind friend and a wonderful mentor to me, and I will never forget her encouragement, warmth and laughter. My deepest condolences to her family and everyone who has had their lives touched by Jill.
Jill was an extraordinary person whose joie de vivre knew no bounds. She should not be gone. My deepest regrets go to her family and especially my dear friend Helen, whose devotion to Jill was and is unending. I am honoured to have met and briefly known Jill who adopted and loved my teardrop trailer. Happy trails to you Jill and special memories to all who were fortunate to know and love you.
Deepest sympathy to the family and friends. Jill will be missed but always remembered for her vibrant spirit. May your memories of her be a comfort going forward. Love Donna

I feel so fortunate to have met Jill and her wonderful family. We spent the most magical time together in Austria and for that I am forever grateful. Jill touched my life briefly yet left the most impactful and beautiful advice to always live life to its fullest because at the end of the day what you take with you are your memories with your friends, family and loved ones. My heart goes out to Jill’s family as they navigate this impossible loss. Thinking of you all and sending my love.
My deepest condolences to the family Jill was an amazing person and affected me in the greatest way possible. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
My deepest condolences to Scott and Ava and Jocee. Jill was a treasure of a human being and will be deeply missed. She touched so many lives with her kind and tenacious soul. To Scott and family
I am truly sorry for your loss, the little interactions I had with Jill – the one thing that stood out was her energy preceding her into a room. She was always shining. May you find peace and love inside your hearts. Thinking of everyone during this difficult time.
I only met Jill a couple times but that description was spot on. Such a fun loving spirit and a joy to be around her. So so sorry for your loss Scott, Ava and Jocee.
Sending my deepest sympathies to Scott, Ava and Jocee.
I was lucky enough to work with Jill for many years in Ultrasound. She had a passion for everything she did. Whether it was scanning a patient, teaching a student, or just being a friend. The room was always a little brighter when Jill entered it. I think now , whenever I see lipstick on a coffee cup I will think of Jill and her bright, loving spirit and I will smile remembering her and the positive impact she had on my life and many others.
She will be truly missed, Cindy Howe
Condolences to the Majernik Family
I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Jill’s passing from Mac ( He joined the hospital memorial ) yesterday, and later, reading the beautifully written obituary truly touched me. I fondly recall the wonderful sessions we shared, beginning when Cheryl invited the two of you to work with us at the Robarts School. What started there grew into a beautiful friendship, filled with many potluck gatherings at friends’ homes throughout the city.
It’s a testament to Jill’s warmth that, although she initially provided massage therapy, it quickly became clear that both of you were an integral part of the group. We enjoyed countless full days together—massages, swimming, and sharing wonderful meals, creating memories I will always cherish.
Jill’s kindness extended beyond our social circle. I remember how supportive she was to Mac and his family when their first daughter, Blakey, was born. In her professional role as a sonographer, Jill helped diagnose a serious situation before Blakey’s birth, and her compassion toward Blakey’s mother was truly remarkable. Sadly, Mac never had the chance to thank her personally for all her care.
I couldn’t agree more with the obituary’s sentiment—Jill has indeed gone to a brighter place. May our memories of her kindness and friendship help sustain us through this difficult time. She left us far too soon.
With sincere sympathy,
The Barry Family
Scott and family. It’s been years since we’ve been in touch but when I saw this in the paper today I had to reach out and let you all know how sorry I am for your loss
Jill and I met in high school, and I am so thankful to have had her as a friend. Our lives took us in different directions but as anyone who has been fortunate to have Jill for a friend knows that she leaves an impression that doesn’t ever go away. I have so many memories of her… her advice, her jokes, her unique and classic style, her unmistakable smile and laugh and most of all the way I felt just being around her. My heart breaks for all of those who love her. My sincerest and deepest condolences to her family.
A beautiful person and a good friend. We will miss you dearly Jill. Sending love and hugs Scott, Ava, and Jocee.
For Scott and family,
I was saddened to see this announcement today. While I did not know her, she sounded like an amazing person. Scott, my condolences and praying for comfort for you and your family.
Laurie Jacques-Walker. Take care.
Dear Scott, Ava, and Jocee,
Your family is in our thoughts at this most difficult time. Trevor and I always looked forward to seeing Jill at Amanda and Mark’s parties. Her smile was definitely contagious and you just felt ‘good’ when you were in her presence.
