Irene Marjory Meiller
MEILLER, Irene….
It is with great sadness that the Meiller family announces the passing of their matriarch Irene Marjory (Franzen) Meiller. Irene passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Wednesday, November 28, 2018 with her loving daughter and best friend, Annette, by her side.
Irene is in the loving arms of our heavenly Father and received her final blessing on Tuesday night. She is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Edward Charles Meiller. Irene is survived by all 9 of her children, 6 sons and 3 daughters. Edward Jr., Linnea (Dennis) Glas, Rene (Tami), Andre (Michelle), Jean (Joanna), twins Annette and Tore (Deb), Lissette, and Raoul (Shelly). As if raising 9 children wasn’t enough Irene welcomed into her arms 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.On November 18 Irene celebrated her 91st birthday and was at home and surrounded with family throughout her day. She even skyped with loved ones unable to visit.
Irene was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Irene (nee Nelson) and Tore Franzen where she was the only sister to brothers Richard, Tore and Arthur. It was at the Grosse Pointe Yacht club where she found her love of swimming and won several trophies in her youth. Irene kept in touch with her niece Tura Franzen over the years and was updated with family stories from afar thru video chats with Tura. Irene travelled to Sweden with her father in the 1940’s to visit relatives. With Irene’s Swedish heritage her sons’ children knew her as Far-Mor and her daughters’ children knew her as Mor-Mor.
A heartfelt thanks to the many healthcare staff who became more like friends to Irene, especially Kim.
Family was everything to Irene and any friend of her children soon became part of the family. She was a beautiful and strong woman, a true matriarch. The beauty of her youth remained in her heart as she aged. Irene loved all and was loved by all. She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Irene’s name. A celebration of Irene’s life will be held on Satuday, December 1, 2018 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Community of Christ Church, 1550 Brydges Street, London, ON, N5W 4M9. Now singing with the angels, her voice no longer silenced… Sylvia passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in her 86th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Tom. Lovingly remembered by her children Sharen (Murray), Linda (John) and Larry (Karen). Treasured Grandma to 7 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Caring sister of Lenore (Ed). Peacefully with her two sons by her side at Prince George Retirement Residence, Lucan, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, Mary Ellen (Osborn) McCoy in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Bill McCoy (2005). Loving mother of Thomas McCoy (Jody) and Robert McCoy (Marie Bohm). Cherished grandmother of Alexa and Jaden. Dearly missed by Lisa McKaskell. Known to all who loved him as Eddie. Passed away at Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of 55 years to the late Nan Glen (2015). He will be sadly missed by his 6 children; Catherine (Ellen), Andrew (Lana), Michael, Edward, Alan and John. Cherished by his grandchildren, Keira Nan, Eli, Sebastian, Luc and Lillie. Dearly missed by his brothers and sisters and their families. Son-in-law Pol. Predeceased by his daughter Christine Glen Coussee (2016). Anyone who knew Eddie, knew he loved to sing and loved to laugh. He was always ready for a sing-a-long. His joyous spirit will live on in all those who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place. Following a courageous battle with cancer, the family is saddened to announce the passing of Susan Marie Douglas (nee McCaughrin), in her 58th year, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. For 21 years, Susan was the loved wife, soul mate and best friend of Richard Douglas. Cherished & treasured daughter of Lee & Nora McCaughrin. Much loved by her brother David (Barbara); Father In Law, Ben Douglas; Brother In Law Brian (Mida) Douglas; Nieces & Nephews Tricia, Spencer, Johnathan, Amanda McCaughrin, Bryce Douglas. Predeceased by Mother In Law Lea Douglas. Susan will be missed by many good friends, neighbors and colleagues. Susan was known for her tremendous love of water. Whether it was walking the beach, boating with family, or travelling and diving exotic places, that is where she found her solitude. She was a well-respected Rotarian and honored to be a member of the Paul Harris Society for her contribution of service over the years. “Love is not a matter of counting the years; it’s a matter of making the years count”. When my wife passed away I was very distraught when the hospital told me I needed to inform them where I would like her body sent to. I had no idea how to proceed. I really lucked out when I found these very kind Souls on the internet. Bailey and the rest of the staff we’re very informed and professional and helped me through all the steps that I needed to take. They also put all the information in a nice folder that came in handy for all the other paperwork that I needed for the lawyer, Etc. I would highly recommend them.
At a time when decisions are difficult turn to the kind staff at Cremation London. I lost someone very close to me. Cremation London was knowledgeable, helpful and extremely accommodating.
Amazing! I can not be any more happy with the professional, caring and compassionate service we received . Kelly was PERFECT!!! I feel we have become FRIENDS after dealing with the most tragic experience of losing a family member so suddenly. That shows her true caring heart. She went beyond expectations!
