Obituary
Dr. Allen Pearson passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence in London, ON at the age of 71. Originally from Branchville, NJ, Allen is survived by his brother Peter and sister-in-law Betty Pearson of Andover, NJ. Allen was predeceased by his parents, George and Jean (Eagleson) Pearson. A graduate of Colgate University and having received a PhD at Cornell University, he was a professor of education at the University of Alberta until 1995. Allen then served as Dean of Education at the University of Western Ontario until 2007, and continued as a full-time Faculty member until his retirement in 2010, after which he was appointed Professor Emeritus and Adjunct Research Professor. Allen also held the position of treasurer of the local NDP party. In keeping with the family’s wishes, a memorial service will be held in Allen’s honor on Tuesday, June 14th at 2pm at the St. John Evangelist Chapel at Huron University College at 1349 Western Road, London. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allen’s memory may be made to help support students at the faculty of Education at UWO.
