Christopher “Chris” Rice
Obituary
RICE, Christopher “Chris”…
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved “Papa”, Christopher Rice.
On the morning of February 15th, 2026, he peacefully closed his eyes for the final time at home, held in the love of his family.
Chris was a devoted partner to Dawn for over 33 years. He was a loving and supportive father to his stepson Brad and his son Eric, and he cherished his relationship with his granddaughter Alyssa. He maintained a close bond with his brother Shawn, his sister-in-law Melinda, and their son, his nephew Avery.
Chris kept friendships from his school days throughout his life, in part because he was the kind of man you never forgot once you met him. His loyalty and kindness extended beyond people – he was an incredible pet parent over the years and will be deeply missed by his four-legged family members, Fallyn and Reese.
Chris worked hard to be a reliable provider throughout his adult life. From his early days in factory work, to his years as an environmental high-pressure water blaster, and through his 18+ years with Southwinds Roofing, he embraced hard work without complaint and always saw every task through to completion.
Commitment and pride defined Chris’ life, but nowhere were they more evident than in the way he spoke about his family and friends. He adored us all and would want you to be reminded of that.
Cheers.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will host a gathering at a later date to share memories and celebrate how fortunate we were to have Chris in our lives. At this time, we ask for privacy as we process this enormous loss.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the St. Elizabeth Palliative Nursing Team. The care, compassion, and unwavering support shown by Dr. Ashtar, Esa, Trevor, and all who assisted allowed Chris to pass through the final stage of his journey as he wished to – at home, in comfort, and surrounded by his family’s love.
In memory of Chris, donations may be directed to the Humane Society London & Middlesex, or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted with Cremation London & Middlesex, 519-858-2467. Online condolences shared at www.cremationlondon.com

Sending our deepest condolences to Chris’s family and friends. Thinking of you all. From Craig Currie and Teresa
My condolences to the family of Chris. I knew him back in high school days. I also worked with him in our younger years at a restaurant.
He was so kind and he will be missed.
