Jessica, I’m so very sorry for your profound loss. Thinking of you and Darren’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
An Irish Prayer
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because
I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

Jessica I am so very sorry to hear of Darren’s sudden passing. Know that you are in my thoughts as you and your family navigate the path that lies ahead. The grief that lies on that path will likely be a tricky beast. While the loss you feel today will never truly go away know that over time it will loosen its grip. As you navigate that path please take care of yourself, lean on your support system, seek help if needed and take one hour, one day at a time.
Holding you in my thoughts,
Heather Williams (Small)

Jessica, Families & Friends, we are so very sorry to hear of your deep and sudden loss of Darren, our hearts go out to you all. I’d like to share with you a poem my mum had saved for many, many years and that gave me and others some solace when she passed many years ago:
Land of Endless Day
For each sunset, there’s a sunrise,
In a land we cannot see.
There’s a place of love and endless dawn,
That’s called… Eternity.
In this land there are no shadows,
And no deepening shades of night,
And no candles ever needed,
For God provides the Light.
No pain or sorrow enters there,
No teardrops ever fall,
And no such thing as parting,
Within its golden halls.
Cares and worries are forgotten,
In this land where trails cease,
And the heart knows only gladness,
And the bliss of perfect peace.
In time there’ll be a reunion,
Sweeter far than words can say,
With those who’ve gone and await us,
In this land of Endless Day.
With Deepest Condolences, Wendy Gordon (Rod)
