I will always remember Elaine as such a kind, caring person. She was a mother hen to all of us, always nurturing and caring for us. I know you will miss her every day but I believe she’ll still be watching you from heaven and doing everything she can to protect you. I’m so glad that I knew her because she made our extended family better whenever she visited.. love Michelle
Oh my heart is so heavy to hear that my dear dear beautiful friend has suffered at the end of her life. Elaine Ross was a very significant person in my life. I will forever remember her laugh, her smile and that twinkle in her eye. She was beautiful, funny, kind and simply a joy to around. George she was madly, passionately and deeply in love with you !
Elaine 2nd daughter of 5 born to John and Ruth Rice, in Halifax, Nova Scotia was a beautiful; considerate daughter; sister; wife; mother and friend, always giving her full attention to our needs.
Elaine felt others suffering life’s injustices, she had the ability to connect empathically with others, to feel with them; to care about their well-being; and to act with compassion.
We are blessed to have had Elaine in our lives, personally she brought joy and professionally she brought assurances to her colleagues and clients helping us to get along, work more effectively, and thrive to be better people. Elaine’s Love was extended to all, her passing has left a void in our hearts and lives. I will continue my Saturday morning chats with my sister – she in her inherited place in heaven , I on my mountain top – Lovingly Valerie.
When we were little, back in Halifax, we were known as the Rice bawl babies. When one of us scraped a knee, we all cried — all five of us. My darling sister, Elaine, has died. It has left a hole in my heart that all the tears in the world can’t fill. I know she is at peace, and I feel her presence every day. My first thought each morning is to phone her. The last few years haven’t been easy, health wise, for Elaine; but she always shared a funny story, a memory or a laugh. She was, and always will be, a wonderful sister and dear friend. What more can I ask for?
Well it is my turn, I really don’t want to write this because it means my beautiful sister is now truly gone. As children we shared the same bedroom as adults we shared our lives and never allowed distance to keep us apart. Elaine was the kindest and most thoughtful person I have ever know. Always wanting to help anyone in need from taking care of our elderly parents to total strangers. Elaine you are so missed but you have earned your wings. God has you now wrapped in Her loving arms. Rest in Peace we all love you and promise to watch over George and your beautiful family
Love you sweet girl
Gail
Despite having not seen my aunt Elaine in many years, hearing the news of her passing left me deeply saddened. She was a warm, empathetic, kind, women, who had so much love to give. Having not known my own grandmother, Elaine was a grandmother figure to me, and hearing of her passing has brought back a flood of memories from my childhood at spent at her home in London. I still find it incredibly hard to fathom that I will never get to see her again, but feel incredibly blessed to have been able to be part of her life. She will be deeply missed.
Elaine and I were friends for over 40 years. We worked at BMO together, vacationed together and gathered with our families together. Elaine was always a good listener and willing to help anyone in what ever way she could. She adored her husband, sisters, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and spoke of them often. Her health diminished over the last few years and due to Covid our contact became phone calls only. We discussed many world problems, and shared our opinions for hours on end. I will miss her sense of humour, kindness and humanity towards others.
