Harold Churchill Jarvis
Obituary
JARVIS, Harold Churchill…
March 3, 1942 – September 13, 2025
Focused on God’s promises for the near future, Harold Churchill Jarvis, age 83, peacefully fell asleep in death, on September 13, 2025, at Victoria Hospital, London, ON.
Churchill was born on Weymouth Falls Road, part of a small village called Weymouth, Nova Scotia. At 20, he became the beloved husband of the late, Beverly Jarvis (nee Francis) for the next 56 years. Materially, they never had much, but they were happy, and content; rich in love.
Baptized in 1967, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Churchill dedicated the remaining 58 years of his life to the service of his God, Jehovah. He allowed the Bible’s teachings to act as a roadmap, guiding his faithful life course. The promised resurrection and hope of everlasting life on a peaceful, paradise earth sustained him. (John 5:28,29; Isaiah 65:17, 21-23, 25) From the pages of the Bible, Churchill loved to share scriptural truths with others, helping them to appreciate that God’s original purpose for mankind has never changed. (Psalm 37:29)
Survived by: his cherished children, son Shawn Jarvis; daughters, Crystal Jarvis, April Jarvis, April Cromwell. His loved sister, Phyllis Moore. Adored grandchildren: Jasmon and Joshua Jarvis. Treasured great-grandchildren: Tiahna, Adrian & Wynter Westcott.
Pre-deceased by his: precious parents, Marjorie and Max Jarvis; dear sister, Fay Samuel; admired brother, Jeffrey Jarvis; esteemed brother-in-law Jimmie Moore; and his dearly loved granddaughter, Brittany Jarvis.
Blessed with a beautiful, rich singing voice, Churchill delivered some well-received Karaoke performances. A lover of music, he taught himself to play the guitar and piano by ear, albeit without the benefit of instruction or reading music. Almost daily, Churchill remarked that one of the things he was most looking forward to pursuing in God’s New World is assembling a band, and entertaining people. And, how he longed to dance, once again, with his late wife, Beverly.
A memorial service for Churchill will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 86 Baseline Road West, London.
