John Trotter
Obituary
TROTTER, John James…
On Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, John passed away peacefully at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Roberta Trotter for 60 years. Proud father of Christine Chant (Chris) and Richard Trotter (Patti). Cherished Papa of Harrison, Georgia, Lachlan, William Chant and James, Thomas, Daniel Trotter. John was a longtime resident of Erin, ON and moved to London in 2018 to be closer to family, especially grandchildren, whom he adored. John started as a fuel truck driver in 1965 with BP, which later became Petro Canada. Throughout his 35-year career he was elected as the Local VP of Energy Chemical Workers Union, which advanced his career into management. He was promoted to Driver Trainer, Certified Accident Investigator, and eventually retired as Safety and Training Officer for Ontario Region. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, had an amazing work ethic, and was an avid Leafs fan. Cremation has taken place. As per John’s wishes, there will be no service. John did not believe in big farewells. Instead he would like those who knew him to offer a quiet toast to an old friend, colleague, neighbour, or family member (preferably with a cold beer). As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation-Palliative Care, 395 Carrie Street, Strathroy, ON N7G 3J4. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation London & Middlesex 519-858-2467. Online condolences shared at www.cremationlondon.com
