Keith Lang
Obituary
LANG, Keith…
It is with great sadness that the family of Keith Lang bring news of his peaceful passing at the age of 73; University Hospital, London on Monday, April 3, 2023. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Denise Lang (2010). Keith was one of a kind, always up for a laugh, a drink and the camaraderie of family and friends. Keith served over 34 years in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves as a Marine Engineer retiring at the rank of Petty Officer 2nd class. He spent his civilian career working as a truck driver for over 35 years with Smith Transport and CP with the radio handle of “Tel Star”. Keith later went on to receive his marine engineering designation from Georgian College and worked at sea in Canada and the United Kingdom. He was also an avid dart player, playing in leagues in Toronto, Bowmanville and London, forging friendships along the way. Keith volunteered as a driver for those undergoing cancer treatment, and enjoyed making his passengers laugh at a very difficult time. He loved music of all genres, was an avid reader and lifelong learner. He knew something about literally everything – a fact that made conversations always interesting. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends and without doubt be remembered by all who met him.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at HMCS Prevost, 19 Beecher Street, London on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm as well as a nighttime reception at The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 500 First Street, London on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 6pm to close.

Kimberly, we are so saddened by this news today, please call if you need anything,. Great man
I’m sorry for your loss, Kim. You have my sincerest condolences.
I’m truly sorry for your loss. Your dad was truly an interesting man and could make us all have a good laugh. I remember the last time I saw him. Prior to the pandemic It was at the annual C&PO’s Bayfield get together and camp. It was so much fun seeing him, laugh and telling some of his stories, and comparing notes. One thing for sure Keith always enjoyed good friends and a wet. My thoughts are with you, your sister, family, and friends. Keith, rest in peace shipmate until we meet again on the other side.
I cannot express how sad I am at the loss of your dad. He was larger than life, he was fun, had a great sense of humour, told wonderful stories, had a cocky wee smile and a laugh that could be heard 10 miles away. I enjoyed all our chats through the decades and shall miss talking to him, I will cherish the memories of them. Keith, you will sorely missed by many. I will remember you always and think of you often, love you cuz xx
Sad to hear of Keith’s passing. I enjoyed working with Keith over the years at HMCS PREVOST, condolences to Kim and the extended Lang family at this difficult time.
He was one of a kind indeed.
I picture God holding Defaulters and St Peter trying to keep a straight face as he reads the charges!
I’m so sorry for your loss, Kim and Denise. Your dad (funny story) was the first person to introduce us to candy; and the universe loves those who are kind to animals and children.
Although we are so very saddened to hear of his passing, we can still hear his hearty laugh and remember his jokes! I think of him and instantly smile, and that part is soothing to the soul. Our deepest condolences .
Uncle Keith,
Thank you for always bringing treat bags whenever you came to the house, Caroline and I always looked forward to seeing you. Thank you for always making Dad laugh. Thank you for always making us feel important to you.
Caroline and I always thought we just had a lot of aunts and uncles, turns out our parents had wild lives before we came along, and these people turned into our family, they came to our events, they called us on birthdays, and we always came running from downstairs to give this guy a hug and get our treat bags before mommy no fun took them away. No matter how many times mom told him not to bring them, I think he still brought me a bag of candy when I was 25.
We love you, old man.
My deepest condolences on your loss. His sense of humour and willingness to help will be missed in the many communities he was a part of.
So very sorry to hear of the passing of your father, Kimberly. Your dad was truly one of a kind and I have fond memories of him. My deepest condolences to you and Denise at this time.
Sorry to hear about his passing. Kim my deepest condolences.
Deepest condolences to you both. Keith was a unique man…lol His sense of humour & laugh will always be remembered. He gave bear hugs like no other! We have no doubt he will be at peace with your Mom who he loved dearly. Take care of yourself and each other.
Denise and Kim. I am truly sorry for your loss. I met Keith about 35 years ago through my late husband Jim, at Prevost. I have very fond memories of our weekend adventures in Port Stanley. Your dad was certainly the life of the party. Interestingly enough, I knew your mom through her work in the Union at National Defence. It wasn’t until many years after meeting your dad that I saw your parents together and put two and two together. My wish is that your memories will keep you strong and that you will be a comfort to one another. Keith was certainly one of a kind….
Denise and Kimberly: Sorry for the loss of your Dad. Denise you wrote a beautiful obituary honouring your father. Love and hugs to you both.
Deeply sorry for your loss. Keith was a very special person. Always looking after his friends. It was an honour to serve with him.
You would have enjoyed your send off in the mess this afternoon brother.
Fair winds and following seas.
Cheers,
Steve
