‘Absent from the body, present with the Lord’
I was profoundly saddened to learn of the passing of my dear friend Mabel.
We met in high school and became best friends who shared dreams, hopes, fun and laughter. We attended dances together during the WW II years. It was at one of these outings to entertain the troops when Mabel met a handsome sailor, was instantly smitten, and the rest is history.
Over the years we kept in touch by mail and phone and Mabel’s visits to Ottawa. Mabel was a truly classy lady. She was always kind, gentle, soft-spoken, and respectful. She was respected by all.
I count myself fortunate to have had Mabel as a friend.
Sincerest condolences to the family she so loved.
