Michael Searle
Obituary
Michael Patrick Searle
January 6, 1952 – January 3, 2025
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Searle, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Vikki; his daughters Michelle Searle (Bill Panopoulos) and Andrea (Greg) Bowering; and his cherished granddaughters, Hayley, Isabella, Tagen and Alexandreia each of whom brought him immense joy. Though his passing was unexpected, his final moments were peaceful, surrounded by family.
Born on January 6, 1952, in Woodstock, Ontario, Mike moved to Komoka, where he built a life defined by dedication to his family, his friends, and his business. Mike met the love of his life, Vikki (Welch) Searle, while roller skating at the London Arena, a meeting that would mark the beginning of a remarkable 53-year marriage. They enjoyed many trips in their motorhome touring Canada and the United States. A proud and loving father, Mike always supported their daughters, to solve problems big and small, to listen and encourage. In quieter moments, Mike found joy in puttering and fixing just about anything, caring for his beloved furry family members, tending to birds, and exploring the back roads. In earlier years, he loved fishing, boating, and snowmobiling; he was always happiest when outdoors and on the move.
A lifelong entrepreneur and hard worker, Mike was a partner in the Little Beaver in Komoka, serving residents for many years. He was someone people turned to because his guidance was steady and sincere. Whatever he set his mind to, he believed deeply in showing up, doing the work, and seeing things through, values he modeled daily. Mike had a gift for patience and a talent for perfectly timed dry wit, often leaving those around him laughing just when they needed it most.
Predeceased by his parents Alice and Harold Searle; he is lovingly remembered by his siblings June, Jim, and Marlene and was predeceased by his sisters Carolyn and Sharon. Also remembered by sisters-in-law Brenda (Harold) and Cheryl (Dave) as well as his brothers-in-law Randy (Brenda) and Chris (Jen). Predeceased by brother in-law Larry (Lynn) as well as mother-in-law Kathleen Welch (Jim) and father-in-law Charlie (Judy) Welch.
Mike made the most of every day; he understood that we are each given one life to live, and he lived his with quiet purpose. He was a gentle soul; his love for his family, his friends and his beloved dogs was unwavering, and his legacy of care and compassion will live on in the hearts of those he touched. In keeping with his spirit, the family invites all who knew and loved him to gather and reminisce at a Celebration of Life, to be held Sunday, April 26, from 1:30–4:00 p.m., with remarks at 2:30 p.m., at FireRock Golf Club, 10345 Oxbow Drive, Komoka, Ontario.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the many medical professionals who supported for Mike over the years, and especially in his final days in ICU at University Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences can be made at www.cremationlondon.com

Vikki and the girls
Even though it has been a while, I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Mike.
I wish to extend my sincere and heartfelt condolences to all of Mike’s family.
In the years that I lived and worked in Komoka, Mike was truly a great and trusted friend, and he will be missed by all that knew him.
I will always remember our friendship and the great times we spent together…. Mike T
Vikki and daughters,
Mike was a great guy who worked hard and “played hard”. We had many good times boating and just hanging out,
He never complained about his back pain or heart problems. Mike was a “tough nut to crack” but once you did you found
a wonderful person. Cherish your memories of a good father, husband, provider and just a great person.
Vikki and family,
Growing up in Komoka meant growing up with Mike. He was a part of daily life for so many of us. I have so many good memories of him and please know that had such a positive impact and was a role model for so many of us growing up. All our love ❤️
