Sandy Bell
Obituary
BELL, Alexandrina “Sandy”…..
With heavy hearts, we grieve the loss of the family leader and matriarch Sandy Bell, on her 71 birthday. Sandy will be deeply missed by 4 generations, that were honoured to have known her love, grace and passion.
Friends and family alike experienced her strong embrace and selfless dedication. She created lasting connections with everyone she met. Sandy was known to all as an independent spirit, who had a generous and kind nature. She was a proud mother and a loyal labour activist. Sandy provided a lifetime of wisdom and influence to her sister Joyce Bossence, daughters Barbra Dunn, Jackie Robinson (Bradley) Tracy McLeod, and Sherry McLeod (Todd). She will be forever loved by her grandchildren Eric McLeod (Katrina), Nicholas and Cameron Robinson and Kale McLeod. Sandy was great granny to Maria, Elijah, Eula, Scarlett and Jayden. She was cherished by Joe & Dylan, Matthew (Ashley) & Jeremy Bossence, Lucas, Katy, Auron, Paxton and Everly Bossence. Fiercely loved by her chosen sisters Sandra Carricato, Jean Simpson, and Sandra Ross.
A future memorial service will be held, when we can safely gather to share stories of Sandy’s amazing life.
Memorial donations can be sent to the London Unity Project, 717 Dundas Street, London ON N5W 2Z5, where Sandy was recognized for volunteering her time providing relief from homelessness.
So glad that Sandy was in our lives. Very caring and always a smile. We will miss her but have happy memories to cherish. Love to all the family. Jim & Carol McLeod
Ascend in peace Nana!! So much love you’ve given me I’ll never forget you !
It was a pleasure knowing Sandy. She was so compassionate, smart, sweet and kind to me but especially to my daughter Chelsea who called her Nana. They were neighbors , however, I witness Sandy unweavering motherly love and care for Chelsea.I was looking foward to seeing her on my next trip to Canada from the Bahamas but the Universe had other plans. Sandy will definitely be missed by me..An angel secured her wings and traveled to a better place. Sleep in heavenly peace ❤️.
Always Joy (Chelsea’s mom)
Sandy will always be remembered for her open heart and joyous soul. RIP. Sandy.

Our hearts are broken but we feel so blessed to have known and loved Sandy for 18 years. She was loved dearly by all of us and we will miss her kind spirit, her giving heart and her cheerful laugh. Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to Tracy, Kale, Jackie, Barb and all of Sandy’s family and friends. We are all better people for having known Sandy Bell. May she rest in the sweetest of peace. Xoxo
What a beautiful person inside and out. Had the real pleasure of getting to know Sandy through our Union the CAW. She was a delight to co-instruct a couple of courses through our tenure as CAW Discussion Leaders. I have a fond memory of going to PEI and we went to a liquor store to purchase wine. They have pour your own and we had a blast. She will be missed but I thank the family for sharing Sandy with the Labour Community. She was an asset to society always fighting for human rights and workers. She will be missed by everyone she touched in her life. Rest in eternal peace Sister… What a beautiful difference one single life made…
She was a wonderful caring person. I am so glad I met her and had the pleasure of working with her. She had such a good sense of humor. Thanks for all the great times.
Dear Tracy and Kale especially,
I really did not know Sandy for long but I concur with all the tributes to her. She was lovely and I suspect losing her will leave a huge empty space in your lives.
You are as lovely as Sandy … remember all she taught you, all she stood for, and you will manage. She is in you now. Stories will keep her forever in your family.
Sending you two love and strength. Be good to yourselves! Sandy was a beautiful Mom and Grandma. Xo

Sandy was a Sister in Labour, and in my class at the Labour College of Canada residential programme in Ottawa. I think of her fondly, and remember her sense of humour. Rest in Peace Sister. The world is a little bit emptier today.

I was shocked to learn about Sandy’s passing today – 3 years since her death. She was a close colleague for years in the CAW education programs and a dear and genuine person who cared about the working class and everyone she came into contact with. Belated condolences to her family.
